VCCT Announces Auditions for The Shawshank REdemption
Vince Carney Community Theatre (VCCT) is holding auditions for "The Shawshank Redemption" on Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19 at the Lincoln Arts Center, 108 S. Main Street in Rochelle.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, January 18 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and again on Sunday, January 19 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The auditions will be conducted at the Lincoln Arts Center, 108 S. Main Street in Rochelle. Please enter through the back door.
The directors need 12 or more actors to play males roles. All ages (18 and up) and all genders are welcome to audition as long as they are willing to play a male role.
Stephen King's amazing novel was brought to the silver screen in 1994 starring Anthony Robbins and Morgan Freeman. VCCT is bringing this story of friendship, persistence, and redemption to the live stage. Actors are needed to play a wide range of characters in a 1940s male prison.
This production of "The Shawshank Redemption" is being directed by Michael Hynek with Amy Frank as assistant director. Show dates are March 28, 29, 30 and April 4, 5. Individuals who are cast will be expected to attend the majority of rehearsals from the end of January through the opening of the show, as well as all live performances.
The auditions will involve individual and group readings. Call backs will be scheduled only if necessary. No preparations are required.
