Cheryl Jane Johnson

Picture
Cheryl Jane Johnson is thrilled to be back on the VCCT stage and playing the role of Amanda. She has acted and directed numerous shows for our group over the past 24 years. Although comedy is her forte, she says, "You can't beat a fine dramatic role and 'Amanda' is just that!" In fact, she played the role 51 years ago at DeKalb High School. That year, 1963, was the year the Guthrie Theatre opened in Minneapolis and Dr. Willard Welsh from NIU worked with a small group of DHS students on improvisational acting. They did a demonstration at the AETA Convention using scenes from "The Glass Menagerie" and attended 5 plays at the Guthrie Theatre. Cheryl lives in Rochelle and has 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren. She love antiques and all of the arts. Cheryl is also active in the Stagecoach Players of DeKalb.

VCCT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
